LET’S BRING EVERYONE UP TO DATE

I told Nebraska this week that I feel as good as I have at any point in the last seven years.  This also is a span that at times has been my lowest as an adult, and a great struggle as well.  This weekend I was feeling strangely fine, nothing of any particular consequence had happened.  The story about my Sunday was part of it but not the whole of it.

For such a big risk, I think that my move will pay off handsomely.  I really just ‘feel’ it, and I want you to know that I, for one, am not surprised.  “Expect victory and you make victory” while not my quote, does give words to how I feel about any pursuit I undertake.  So I cannot say that I am not surprised that I am doing well.  I looked forward to being at this spot because I took aim and actions to reach where I am.  But it hasn’t been a walk in the park.

When I arrived last year a week ago, I took on this project ‘underfunded’.  That has been covered and I would also think that also would cover the expected financial hardships that can be expected when finances are short.  So for those who ‘know who they are’, thanks ever so much for your help getting me over some rough waters.  You can imagine but you will never know what it meant to me.

The same can be said of Nebraska.  She helped me out with getting something to eat and cook with, as well as giving me a bed to sleep in as well.  I can’t go in to how much that has meant to me as well, though again, I think that the image of a cat lying on a hard, linoleum floor, should be visceral enough to do so.

We are still not hitting on all cylinders as a couple, and that is that with that.

Reading for my research papers… I think I mentioned that I am writing on the Mike Tyson - James “Buster” Douglas fight and that I am toying with using the same subject for both classes, my Info Systems and English Composition class.  Not only would it be a work saver but there is more than enough information surrounding the fight to write two DIFFERENT papers on the same event.

COINCIDENCE..?

Actually it is.  I am about to feature another beautiful young woman on the ‘net, this one a blogger who I am SURE I have linked to before.  Don’t have her name but her blog, Indie.Electronica.Alternative., caught my attention because I am certainly into all three musical genres (and sub-genres…).  She does some fashion entries and I keep thinking of KT and how she THINKS she is pretty (she was a pageant girl until she was 10 and stopped growing taller!!), but the blogger is modest about her looks.  She is moved more by her passions and luckily she is willing to share some of it with the world at large.

The entry I have provided a link to is specific.  It was one of her many music posts and she listens to the best stuff.  But I would really, really, REALLY like to own a copy of this remix, which I have not found any place I can either find it or download the song.  The band XX is a real cool group and I would hope that they can make at least two more quality albums.  After that, they qualify (in my mind, anyway) as a group that has established itself as a quality music group and not some flash in the pan, you dig?

I haven’t spoken about school much because, for real, it is what it is.  In the Info Systems, I am pulling down an ‘A’, my score holding strong at 94.13%.  Woo Hoo!  Honestly, I am very pleased with myself, because I have really had to suck it up and grind away to get it.  This is one time where having to work hard has really been rewarding.  Not that I have ever been ‘lazy’ but I did not always put the kind of effort in my scholastics as I should have.  With my injury I have no choice.  One of the things about working hard and grinding as I do, is that it makes the time go by fast!  Another thing is that I feel more appreciative for what I have been given the opportunity to do and I will make the most of it.  Can’t imagine it any other way!

A year already? Time does fly? Financial struggles can break anyone down. Glad to see that you stuck to the grind and kept swimming!
Good job keeping those grades high. I'm sure that's important to you.
"...Still not hitting on all cylinders as a couple"...you speak of other potential relationships and it has sounded like you really wish you could pull TJ back from the past. I think I must have missed too many posts. So you are with 'Nebraska"? I'm sure things will work out.
Congrats again with school and making it in Omaha. Wish you the best!

Good for you for the grades, Mark! I too can't believe its been a year with your move, but now that I think back, you were moving while we were starting to plan our move. I knew you would get there in Nebraska; having "read" you for a bit I knew you would find a way to get there, to make it work. I'm glad it has come together and is continuing to come together for you Mark!

awesomeness on the grades-
even more awesomeness on the feeling of victory after thinking about and then undertaking the move and the decision to go back to school.

Speaking of electronica - have you ever listened to Royksopp? It's a couple of dudes from Norway (I think) who make the magical music. Do a YouTube search for "Happy Up Here" and you'll be on your way!
