THE FAIR PLAY CONCEPT

BLOG CHALLENGE TWO-IN-ONE

·  speak up about something crap that was done to you.
·  hold yourself accountable — not guilty — for something crappy you did to someone else.

I decided to wait and hit both of these challenges in one entry as they seem very interrelated and I felt like it would be better to fit them in together.  But before I get to that, today was my first day of school!  Tuesday’s and Thursday’s are my English Composition class and Monday’s and Wednesday’s are my Info Systems sessions.  Come the weekend, I’ll prolly have more to say about school.

SEE, THAT IS THE RULE

I have already kvetched about my family, my marriage and Mookie Dee.  But that is really the level all my ‘issues’ with them rise to, as I am not going through those situations anymore and  I am pretty much clear of any ‘obligations’ to those relationships, there really isn’t a need to go over them.  And when it comes to my crap, and I own all of it, as bad as it looks and smells, there isn’t anyone that can say that I tricked them into stepping in any of it.  That is the ‘fair play’ rule.

For instance, almost any single woman who follows this blog is ‘bowl eligible’.  See, because most if not all, of what I have written in here, is stuff that early in a prospective relationship that I would let a chick in on.  I wouldn’t have let everything out at once but in increments and I would always be open to questions that a prospect would have for me.  The deal about fair play is pretty much this... I will let you know what you are getting into, tell you where I want our relationship to go and give you an outline and plan on how I to 'us' reaching those goals, if you accept the offer sheet.  Oh, and you have to be forward about the skeletons in your closet as well.  After all, it is 'fair play' and I don't think if you are 'playing fair' if you aren't able to be forward with you goals and intentions as well.

AND YES, I KNOW WHAT TOMORROW IS

Man, does my hair have A LOT of gray!  I think it happened overnight because I bathe and brush at my hair everyday and I did not have this much on Sunday morning!!  It’s cool… I just appreciate that when I get a haircut that a lot of my hair comes back, gray or not, and does not look or feel as it is thinning out anywhere.  But I am not complaining… I still think that I look good to be 44, for sure.  There is no wear and tear on my face or body and I still get around pretty good (though I still have lower back pain that doesn’t seem to want to go anywhere).

Nebraska wants to take me out to dinner at Granite City Food & Brewery.  I hope that it isn’t too dressy because I thought that I had brought a pair of ‘interview shoes’ but either I can’t find them or I did not bring them (though I could have sworn I wore them a couple of times since I have been in town) with me.  All in all, it should be a nice evening with great company.

Hope everyone is doing well and I will try to get around to visit journals at some point soon… take care and be well and if anyone feel they need someone to ‘talk’ with, my mailbox is ALWAYS open.

Love & Rockets!
Mark

Oh my gosh, Mark, that restaurant! Yum! Just quickly perusing the menu, I found at least five items I would want to have! Honestly, not sure about where you are at, but here there is just a handful of restaurants that one must "dress" for; everything is so casual, jeans, sandals, flip-flops, etc. I think you will have an enjoyable time with Nebraska!

So glad you have started school! I'm sure it will be filled with lots of great adventures and learning (do I sound like a mom or what??) Seriously, I think it is great you are doing this! Best of luck with it, but I'm sure you will do great!

Starting school - a good idea and one that never comes too late.

And what is tomorrow? Besides MY birthday, that is? Is it your birthday, as well?

Now THAT is cool, should it be so.

Happy Pre-Birthday!
P.S. The gray doesn't ever get easier to see. I'm resigned to it but still shocked every time I look in the mirror and see Dad.
